orientation two!okay i have to say that the activities on day one were pretty boring...a lot of stoning in the hall and watched shakespear in love for the 'carnival' while other ogs played games cause we chose not to. but after that we had sleepover at belinda's house and it was great fun! nothing wild or crazy, everything just felt homey and comfy and all. :D and i got to wake up at 645 in the morning how cool is that i wna stay at thomson!
and batchgive on the second day felt really meaningful. i went to this old woman's house at toa payoh and it was actually nicely furnished and all...as in it wasnt like very dirty or untidy though the furniture was really simple. so the woman was like telling us how she has rheumatism but cant get proper treatment in a hospital cause it is really expensive, which made me realise that we really do need to plan for our old age because as much as money may not necessarily buy us health it is still essential. and she was really shy and sweet at the same time with a cute laughter! :D she's 71 but she really looks younger than that. and she tells us how she could not work because of her weak knees and now earns very little from collecting cans and selling them. and she sounded quite sad as she mentioned how all her relatives dont keep in touch or visit her and all. and she kept praising us for being such nice people. it felt good to know that we touched her heart, though im not too sure if we managed to 'fill the empty spaces' in her heart because that is truly up to her relatives no? i guess i can safely say that i am more fortunate than her. yet, she seemed quite contented with karaoke sessions on a weekly basis and watching tv till she falls asleep every night. i guess happiness is something that is so intangible, like how some people from my og mentioned during the reflections time, that these people are so easily contented with what little they have, while some of us fail to realise how blessed we truly are.
so on the whole,O2 didnt feel too much like an orientation but i guess it was still enjoyable.
walk the linei thought the movie was a pretty good biography of johnny cash and i really enjoyed it. it wasnt trying to make johnny cash sound flawless but yet it was apparent that he was a man with much talent. the violent nature of him and his dad sort of reminded me of daddy though. why cant men express their anger in other ways apart from slamming things here and there? reese witherspoon and joaquin phoenix can really sing, and i should say that she deserves her oscar (: thought im not too sure who the other nominees were.
and i got to meet with weijean today! :D i miss u babe u know i do and thanks for the nice long talk.
and to all the beloved darlings out there whom i care for so much, life has got great things in stored for us so dont ever give up when the going gets tough cause im here to lend a listening ear and a helping hand (:
